As a regular hat-wearing guy, our Founder and Inventor of The HatBuddy©! was always dealing with the aggravating task of keeping his cowboy hat in place, (up there on his truck's dash board) while he was driving. Since it's never a good idea to put your good hat in the seat... (sooner or later, it gets sat-on), he looked for something to keep it out of the way when it wasn't on his head. There was one product which had been on the market for years, used for holding hats in vehicles but he found it to be a little difficult to use, time consuming to mount  and worst of all, IT BENT his cowboy hat because it pressed the brims hard against the ceiling or window! For several years this problem continued.

He really liked keeping his hat right on his dash. There it was within easy reach for grabbing when he'd get out somewhere. But of course, EVERY TIME he'd make a turn, go around a curve, accelerate to merge into traffic, cross railroad tracks or drive down a bumpy road, his cowboy hat would go sliding across the dash, into the floor on the other side. Sometimes it would come flying directly into his lap or into the floorboard under his feet! If you've ever worn a cowboy hat much, you, yourself have probably experienced some of these very same things.

 

He continued to search western shops and truck stops around the country, for something, anything that could fix his hat- sliding problem WITHOUT bending or deforming the shape of his hat. When he wasn't able to find anything, he just invented something! And so HatBuddy© was born. After conceiving the idea and making the first prototype, he placed his hat onto his new HatBuddy© and plopped it up onto the dash of his truck. He rode around for days doing his 'due diligence" for research and development and something great happened. More aptly put, something great DID NOT HAPPEN! He found that No Matter What Kind of road he was on, How Sharp the Curves, or how quick the turn, his hat stayed put! It didn't move an inch and he no longer had to remember to reach up at every turn and grab his hat! Ah, the joy!
